Chapter Meeting Dates and Hosts
Fraternal Year 2010-2011
Brother Lewis Randy Marshall, Initiated on April 13, 1946 at the Bluefield State College Chapter the Alpha Tau of Kappa Alpha Psi, passed away on Friday July 16, 2010. He was a charter member of the Lawrenceville (VA) and Danville (VA) Alumni Chapters. He served Kappa Al pah Psi for over 64 years. He was affiliated withe the Danville (VA) Alumni chapter for our inception until his death.
The Danville (VA) Alumni Chapter will be having our annual planning retreat on Saturday August 14, 2010 at 9 am until at the Blanks Club.
*This is a planning meeting to map out the upcoming fraternal year.

Achievement
At the Eastern Province Council held in Bethesda, MD on the dates of March 26- 29, 2009, hosted by the Silver Spring (MD) Alumni Chapter; The Danville (VA) Alumni Chapter was awarded the first place “William Thomas Carter Small Size Chapter of the Year” for 2009; this was the eighth year in the past nine years that the chapter has received the first place chapter of the year from the Eastern Province. Brother Keshon “Shon” Kelly received the Eastern Province William L. Crump History Award; this marked the ninth year in a row that a member of Danville (VA) Alumni has received this award from the Eastern Province. Brother Keshon (Shon) Kelly also received the Eastern Province’s Linwood Hardman Chapter Advisor of the Year for advising the Theta Psi Chapter (VA-Tech) this is the second time in the past 3 years that Shon has won this award. Brother Kelly was also elected to serve as the Alumni Voting Delegate for the Eastern Province at the 79th Grand Chapter Meeting in Washington, D.C. this summer. Brother Edward Thomas was awarded the chapter’s Man of the Year award from the Province, Johnny S. Newman received the Fraternity Service award, Keshon Kelly received the Community Service award and Montoya Milton received the Professional Service award. The chapter has a lot to be proud of as we are going into our 11th year anniversary as a chapter in Kappa, and we have accomplished so much in such a short time. We will continue to “Create Inspiration in ONE KAPPA,” and “Take Danville to Higher Heights.”

Diamond & Pearls
The Ladies of the Alpha Phi Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc along with the Men of the “Do-it-All” Danville (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc presents the Danville, VA, Diamond and Pearl Holiday Social. This event will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2008 at Mount Hermon Courtyard Conference Center located at 2725 Franklin Turnpike, Danville, Va. 24540. Phone: (434) 836-5009. Dress: Cocktail After Five Attire, Time: 6:00 pm until. Cocktails & Hors Doeurves Served.
Cellular Phone for Help Project
The Men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. are collecting old cell phones to donate to the battered women’s shelter. The shelter has the phones refurbished and uses them to help the woman that comes to the shelter. So if you have any old cell phones lying around and want to get ride of them please bring them to donate to the shelter. This Project will be running until Monday December 15, 2008. So please bring all phones to be donated by this date.
Rides to the Polls on Election Day, November 4, 2008
