Magae Hartzell

My new abstracts represent a radical opening of creative energy pushing boundaries and expanding possibilities. Security no longer consists of having a plan or conceptualizing an outcome. My artistic process is about letting go, dancing with color, connecting with intuitive heart wisdom, and allowing creative awareness to flow-through. This is the same energy we all have and runs the universe. Feel the energy in these paintings and connect with the creative spirit within you.

Magae paints boldly with oil, acrylic, and watercolor capturing anything that appeals to her from en plein air landscapes, to figures as well as rich inner abstract journeys. “For me, art is about re-interpreting inner and outer reality while expressing the spontaneity of the visual language I love.” She enjoys color in all its nuances and the freedom to explore the “essence of being” through art. 

Magae holds a B.A. in Art, from University of Massachusetts and masters graduate studies in architecture from New Jersey Institute of Technology. Her work is in private collections in the US, abroad; and corporations and government agencies. She has studied with numerous masters across the country.

Previously a corporate manager, she has painted professionally for 25 years and has exhibited in various locations including The Taubman Museum of Art. Magae is represented by The Market Gallery. She teaches workshops.

Magae’s Studio is located in Botetourt County.
