Bonnie D. Burt

Bonnie has recently returned to Roanoke after a two year stay in northern Virginia.  Her studies include The Art Institute of Pittsburgh, College of William and Mary, Virginia Western Community College, and Hollins University.  She continuously explores all mediums in her artistic expression.  Drawing and painting the human form from life has been a constant in her work.  She moves quickly into the intuitive state resulting in confident, immediate and expressive works that somehow create a sensibility or mood.

Her most recent series are the “Instrumentalists.”  These black ink drawings are lyrical and expressive, embodying the movements and sounds of orchestral players.
