Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial: Help Build The Dream

Brothers, there is an ongoing effort to collect funds and construct a memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on the National Mall in Washington, DC. This Memorial will inspire people, now and forever, to fight racism, injustice and inequality wherever it occurs. Further, the Memorial will stand as a tangible symbol of what is still achievable through non-violent action, tolerance and appreciation of diversity.

Last summer, a donation was made in the name of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. to the Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, Inc., but more is needed. I encourage you to learn about the Memorial, share the news with friends and associates, and donate to the Project. When one asks the question: “Who should build a lasting Memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.?” – the answer, resoundingly, should be all those who have benefited from the works and teachings of one of the world’s foremost figures. People from across the country and around the world have joined together in support of the Memorial, but the fundraising goal cannot be reached nor can construction of this long-overdue memorial begin without the support of the men of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. and others.

A “Greek-letter” fundraising campaign has been initiated by the Washington, DC Martin Luther King, Jr. National Memorial Project Foundation, Inc. and we should take part in the activity. I am asking that you log on to the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. page, and make a tax-deductible donation. When the campaign closes in February of 2006, the Greek-letter organization donating the highest amount will be feted. There is no question which fraternity should be number one!

I thank you in advance for your support.

Yours in the Bond,

Samuel C. Hamilton
