Grand Polemarch Announces “All Brothers On Deck” Call to Action in Support of Pepsi Refresh Project: Kappa Kamp Piney Woods School Proposal
(Philadelphia, PA) – December 9, 2010 – To encourage more brothers and chapters to participate in the Fraternity’s campaign to win a $250,000 grant for its Kappa Kamp proposal at the historic Piney Woods School, Grand Polemarch Dwayne M. Murray announced a nationwide call to action for each chapter to get organized and encourage each member to support this initiative.
“This is a moment when we all can make a difference,” Grand Polemarch Murray said. “All it takes is an expansion of the sustained effort brothers have exhibited thus far.”
In the early days of December, the Kappa Kamp petition was positioned near the top of the list. Pepsi Refresh Project vote projections at least for several days placed the Fraternity’s initiative in the number two position. Winner will declared by being in the number one or number two positions at the close of voting on December 31st.
To further expand the voting strategy, the Grand Board of Directors in conjunction with the Kappa Foundation, Inc. and the Province Polemarchs will coordinate a nationwide conference call next week with local chapter polemarchs as well as key organizers of the voting drive to discuss effective methods to encourage more members to participate in this noble goal.
Kappa Alpha Psi has more than 700 Chapters with an average of 30 members. Under the rules of the Pepsi Refresh Project, each person can vote three times a day using various mediums, which means the Kappa Kamp Piney Woods School Initiative could garner at least 63,000 votes a day within the fraternity, if everyone active Kappa votes.
Here’s how you can vote: Via Text 104047 to Pepsi (73774); Facebook- search Kappa Kamp; and, via email pep.si/GACKappaMrO
“I am extremely proud of our membership for the work they have done so far,” Murray said. “Now its time to redouble our efforts to insure that we vote daily and spread the word to others to get involved in this unique opportunity.”
Details of the conference call will be distributed through the Provinces.
