Dr. Keflyn X. Reed Enters Chapter Invisible

December 5, 2010

Brothers,

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I share with you the unfortunate news that Brother Dr. Keflyn X. Reed, Editor of the Journal of Kappa Alpha Psi, Southern Province Keeper of Records, Guy L. Grant Recipient, and Elder Watson Diggs Awardee has entered the Chapter Invisible. Brother Reed passed today, Sunday, December 5, 2010. He was a stalwart in the Mobile Alumni Chapter, and the pride of the University of Alabama Chapter, the Eta Chi of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. To state it mildly, Keflyn truly loved Kappa Alpha Psi. For many of us, we will suffer the tremendous loss of a brother but most importantly a friend. There is no easy way to digest this tremendous loss to the KAPPA Family. Funeral arrangements are forthcoming. I am asking the Southern Province to observe, along with the Mobile Alumni Chapter, a period of mourning from today, December 5th, through January 5, 2011. Life Membership pins should be worn over a black square swatch; badges are to be draped with black thread or cloth wrapped on the upper half. Please consult your Guide to Protocol and
Etiquette, if you need additional instruction.

Our prayers are with the family of Brother Reed during these most challenging times.

Yours in the Bond,
Ronald E. Range
