GRAND CHAPTER COMMUNIQUE
(Centennial Update – 100 Years of Achievement)
As we move towards our Centennial Celebration, Kappa is proud to recognize its long legacy of
great men. Highlighted by our 10 Founders, the 31 men who have been privileged to be called
Grand Polemarch, and our various national awardees, our members have been the true success of
our accomplishments for nearly 100 years. The crown jewel of our awards, the Laurel Wreath,
has been bestowed upon 66 outstanding men, representing some of the most distinguished men
in this country. From Revered Founder, Elder Watson Diggs, to C.C. Spaulding, Reverend
Leon H. Sullivan, Arthur R. Ashe, Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr., Louis Stokes and many more.
In July, at our 82nd Grand Chapter Meeting, we will include three (3) additional Kappas to this
prestigious list:
Arthur L. Carter (67)
Michael V. Roberts (68)
Ronald R. Young (69)
We encourage you to join us in Indianapolis for what will be a once in a lifetime celebration.
We will celebrate our legacy of outstanding Achievers as so much more. Early registration ends
on December 31st, please register now.
With just 62 days remaining until we begin our historical celebration, it is certainly an exciting
time for Kappas worldwide. On January 5th, we will simultaneously honor all ten (10) Founders
with a formal Wreath Laying Ceremony. We encourage everyone to attend one of these
historic ceremonies which will be held in Indianapolis, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Chicago,
Detroit, Evansville, Milwaukee and Los Angeles.
We will then gather in Philadelphia, the home of our International Headquarters, on January 8th
for our Centennial Founder’s Day Celebration honoring three of our Grand Polemarchs: Ronald
R. Young (28th), Howard L. Tutman, Jr. (29th) and Samuel C. Hamilton (30th). Some 1200
Brothers are expected to attend the formal banquet, at which we annually rededicate ourselves to
the precepts of Phi Nu Pi.
On behalf of the 31st Administration of our beloved Kappa, I thank you for your contributions
to the success of our Noble Bond and congratulate you on 100 Years of Achievement. Kappa
